FreeBen is the first service of its kind to genuinely meet the needs of both the advisor and the customer. We are fully committed to the principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) - in fact this was the driving force behind the development of FreeBen in the first place.
We recognised the need for an instant and accurate assessment of Means Tested Benefits entitlement, and we also felt strongly that this should be provided free of charge to the customer.
FreeBen enables you to quickly establish which clients are not eligible for Means Tested Benefits, and so save them from needlessly paying for reports which may not be relevant to their circumstances.
The only service offering a free Entitlement Report
FreeBen provides a free Entitlement Report so there are no up-front costs to the advisor - and therefore, none to pass on to the customer.
You can produce as many Entitlement Reports as you wish. You can even produce multiple entitlement reports for each client, for example if their circumstances change over time.

Next-day projection reporting service
If the customer is eligible for Retirement Age Means Tested Benefits, then you may need to provide a more detailed report showing how these would be affected by the additional income or capital from equity release. You can request a more detailed Projection Report which we will email to you within one working day. The cost for this is just £35, payable when you request the report.

Easy-to-understand reports in plain English
FreeBen produces reports that are simply laid out and explained in clear terms. You can give these to customers with only a minimum of further explanation to ensure they understand the content.
Designed for use offline
FreeBen works online or offline so you can use it even where the internet is not available. You do need to be online when you first install FreeBen. From time to time you will also need to be online to obtain updates from our central system.
Case management features
You can add your own case numbers to your clients' details, to enable you to manage them effectively, or to link them to the case numbering used by your own systems. All reports are readily available for your compliance audit trail.

FreeBen Version 5 and later is based on the benefits systems for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The most cost-effective solution of its type
There are only two charges relating to FreeBen - the annual subscription to the FreeBen service, which is £45, and the per-report charge for the Projection Reports, which is £35. There are no additional or hidden charges.
If you only use FreeBen to produce Entitlement Reports it will cost you less than £4 per month.
